Enchanted Nite..

Saturday nite was memorable. Azie, Fauziah Salleh n Midah spent the early evening with all of us. Azmi, Zul, Amin, Muhaini, Adie, Lily, Hatim n I spent the nite at Az Mahal's. At about 9.00pm after prayer n fetching Zul from his meeting by Azmah n the gang, it was croaking time...oops I mean Karaoke time... Everyone was talented. Some were dead shy. I would rather die than sing...sorry gang! Zul sang like a professional. Lagu "Ku Di Halaman Rindu" tu untuk sape Zul ? Ustazah tunggu lagu 'Intifada' tak ada pulak. So turun bawah sembang n menikmati keindahan malam sambil makan2. From downstairs I could hear someone sing ' To All the Girls I Loved Before' Was that Azmi or Zul yang nyanyi tu. Kedengaran sayup2 n Feelings betul org yg nyanyi tu. Suara Azmi mmg best tapi malam tu Zul telah dinobatkan sebagai Juara Karaoke krn suara dia lagi merdu mcm Mawi..hehehe. You dah claim ke hadiah BMW dari Datin? Nak dengar Zul Nyanyi ?... KU DI HALAMAN RINDU Ooooooooooo Di tengah kepekatan malam Berdiri aku di halaman rindu Dihembus kenangan lalu... Menjelmalah seraut wajah Sekuntum bunga yang pernah ku puja Tapi layu akhirnya... Ingin ku tembus tembuk silam Dan membaiki kesilapan kita Yang tiada kita rasa.. Dahulu maaf.......... Darah mudah menguasai diri Gitu mudah membenci.. Chorus: Ku di halaman rindu Hanya berteman bunga yang layu.. Ku di halaman rindu Tiada harum ....tiada madu... Oh...kesalku, membeku di kalbu Oh Sayangku..penawar rinduku Oh kasihku... hanyalah untuk mu Oh Sayangku....penawar rinduku Repeat chorus. Sorrylah sy terlupa lirik sikit macam Mawi semasa concert prelude. Tahniah Zul... Bila nak masuk OIAM atau AF ? Anyway...that nite Amin was on duty jaga rumah Azmah (yg nie amin volunteer ek..i tak suruh tau) Then Zul, Hatim n I accompanied Amin till the wee hours of the morning. Mlm tu, Azmi, Muhaini, Lily n Azmah pun joined kitaorang sebelum diaorang surrender masuk tido. Sambil chatting tu, Amin n I keluar masuk dapur cari makan. There were lots of leftovers from the Hi Tea n Barbeque. I also felt quite sleepy but the guest room was full. Hatim n I were supposed to sleep in Najiha's room tapi we all terlupa yang mana satu bilik Najiha. Nanti termasuk silap bilik naya pulak...Termasuk kat attic ke, bilik Aidil ke... so before dia org menjerit lebih baik tak yah tido. Pagi tu sy terlelap kjap atas buaian n then atas sofa. The next morning breakfast ubi rebus, lempeng, sambal tumis n ikan kering with Azmah's hubby. The nite before pekena Sup Kambing power. Sorry lah Azmi terbubuh lebih spices. Maklumlah chefs nya Spice Girlz. Apa macam ..best tak tido kat attic with the glassed partition ? Mesti teringat kat mem n rindu kat dia...Pagi tu tak sabar2 nak balik...So after breakfast...Azmi, Muhaini, Lily n Amin balik. After that Azmah bawa Zul pegi station naik bas. Adie pun beli tiket balik BP at 2pm. Lepas tu rumah Azmah jadi sunyi sepi balik. Everything was back in order. For dinner Azmah masak lontong n sambal tumis. Tak penat2 ke datin tu? Kesian dia...Then Azmah sent me to the Bas station at 9.30 pm. Tak lama lagi Azmah's maid akan balik cuti. I nak apply lah jadi your maid n driver boleh tak? Nanti i amik crash course in driving n culinary arts. I hope I won't crash anything I promise. So on behalf of all tips Frenz...I want to convey our most profound gratitude n appreciation to you n your hubby for hosting this magnificent event. I really enjoyed my three days stay at your lovely house. Jazakallahu khairan kasiran. May Allah shower you n your family with Rahmat n maghfirah and wish you A Happy Ramadhan Al Mubarak.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

Glad to hear that everyone was pleased and satisfied with the reunion with Mrs Muthu. Those who have taken so much trouble to come...Thank you so much for everything ! I considered myself very lucky indeed as I was with Azmah from the day before the reunion....right till it was over. I was the last to leave her house on the 8th August at 9.30 pm.

On Friday morning the 7th of August, Azmah n I went marketing. We bought 2 kg of mutton, herbs, veggies, spices, eggs, fish, pineapple etc. The rest of the day was spent mostly in the kitchen preparing the meals and also for the next day's Hi Tea. Azmah's children were also kept busy on their toes...willingly running errands n offering their hands. Very different from what we see in TV...so aloof n hopeless !!

It melted my heart to see Najiha and Alan co operatively making 2 dozens of shepherd's pies together. When Fitri arrived home from work..we had the hot steaming, freshly baked pies together for tea. Emm ...they were really delicious Najiha. How nice to have a daughter who is sweet, feminine n diligent in school n at home.

Later we went out again to survey the the cakes and to buy other stuff. In the evening the kitchen was alive with activities. The aroma of the Mutton Soup and the Shepherd's Pies snaked its way out of the kitchen and permeated right into the Guest Room where I was praying.

That night I joined Azmah n her family for dinner at her hubby's office functions. The dinner was to usher in the Merdeka month. It was fun to see the company's staff competing each other in the Karaoke contest ala Gangstarz style..This was something I did not expect but it was a nice treat n nice of Fitri to invite me though initially...I wanted to stay at home.

We had satay, nasi lemak, laksa asam n Yong taufoo. Sumptuous !

The next morning Azmah n I went to the market again to do some last minute shopping. We looked for some tapiocas, coconut, santan and so on while Aidil bought some seafood for his Barbeque with his friends. When we reached home Azmah, cooked the Asam Rebus ikan selar kuning with Nenas, Asam pedas ikan merah, pecal ayam and urap. This meal was specially prepared for those coming early for lunch n from outstations. But we had a surprise in store for us....

At 12 noon Azmah n hubby were supposed to attend a wedding reception. Azmah entrusted the duty of a host to me. Oh my goat ! Here Comes Trouble !. I was so damn nervous. Bila lagi nak menyamar jadi datin tapi saya panicked betul2 ni.

I begged Azmah earnestly not to leave me !! Glad Azmah was still around to welcome the the guys...Azmi, Amin n Zul. Not long after that, Roslina with her left hand in bandage ( what happened ? ) and her hubby dropped-by. The guys were just breaking the ice with Roslina when another batch of guests arrived...

It was a pleasant surprise to see our dear teacher Mrs Muthu being escorted by Peng Huat and Elaine. Well.. a teacher will always be a teacher. Ever punctual and right on the dot ! After that it became a mini photo-shoot session, storing-telling, reminiscing old times and getting to know each other and endless makan time. Everything happened in a single breath.. I could hardly catch up with what was happening.

More frenz started arriving after that... Midah, Muhaini, Hatim, Roslaili, Azie, Adie n her daughter, Faziah, Fauzia Salleh n Ismail Raus. Later Aya showed up..and then we were pleasantly surprised by the arrival of our ever popular TIGS frenz...Roseta Jaafar n NId. By this time my head was beginning to malfunction because I was trying to make sense of what everybody was talking about.

Everyone had some juicy story to tell. At the round table..the girls were giggling n laughing away cracking jokes while at the other end...Azmi, Zul, Aya, Peng Huat, Elaine n I were engrossed listening to Mrs Muthu reminiscing old time stories.

Looks like Azmi has got a rival now. Mrs Muthu's memory is still sharp. Most of Mrs Muthu's stories centred around school time, her family's life, about the late Yasmin Ahmad early life n even about Dato' Chua Soi Lek, Cikgu Mohd Said and so forth. So macam2 story ada... You missed that special moment lah Azmah.

As stories after stories were being unfolded, and jokes after jokes being cracked..we took our own sweet time to savour the delicious Hi Tea spread. The Soto was truly excellent, so was the roti jala, Azie's home-made chocolate muffins, cakes, banana fritters, Muhaini n Azmah's soya bean jelly n fruit cocktails, Hernie's prawn fritters and fruits brought by our frenz. Thank you so much for all the generous sponsors n host.

We had another round of photo-shoot session with Mrs Muthu. Then the finale to the reunion was the cake cutting by Adie, Amin n Aya to celebrate their birthdays in advance this month. The twins birthday falls on the 23 August while the monitor's birthday is on the 29th August 1961.

After that..Aya on behalf of the group presented Mrs Muthu with the lovely pitcher n bowl. Before the guests departed, Azmah also gave Mrs Muthu a pair of beautifully framed class n reunion photos. The rest did not leave empty handed as Azmah, Azmi, Zul, Fauziah Salleh n Faziah thoughtfully gave some souvenirs to all of us. Thanks a million buddies for your kindness.

In Mrs Muthu's farewell speech, she thanked everyone for inviting her to the reunion and expressed how happy she was. She was also looking forward to join us again in future reunions. I pray to God that Mrs Muthu will be blessed with optimum health , prosperity, longevity n happiness. And hope to see you again...

Saturday Night Fever - Chronology Finale

I'm pleased u guys willing to stay overnite at my humble abode. Sorry lah klu i tak dpt menyediakan accomodation yg bertaraf 5*. The guys (azmi, zul n amin) tidur at the deck, attic floor while the spice gals (muhaini, ainon, hatim, lily, saadiah n doter) cramped to my guest's room.

Lps maghrib amin asked for direction nak ke station komuter to fetch zul. Zul attended a meeting in KL ptg tu. So i volunteered to fetch him with amin, midah n muhaini tagged along. Ini amin saja nak pekena si zul bawak pengiring reramai.


The karaoke session started rite after isyak.... Azmi did the opening by rendering few classic songs, followed by Zul ( juara karaoke tips73).....i think everybody agrees u have beautiful voice.. mmg meletopz. My hubby kata lain kali bagi zul incharge of the karaoke session. Malam tu Dee, azie, muhaini dan hatim pun sempat menyampaikan beberapa buah lagu. According to azie this was her first time karaoking but not bad eh...never mind azie...practise makes perfect !!

Aya u missed this session, next time okay...lg pun mlm tu u need to attend a wedding reception kan. Azie successfully sweet-talk her husband to let her stay until 10 pm. Cheers Azie !! Indeed Fauzia too was so sporting, she left us at 11 pm.

Supper was self service, and the menu was sup kambing. Sorry lah tak dpt melayan as i was busy chatting with Azmi, Zul n Hatim. It was abt 1 am when we all turun bwh, join others yg ada kat bawah. Seblum turun sempat intai my bedroom, tgk hubby dh tido..blh ronggeng sikit lagi. Mmg berat hati nak masuk tidur tapi hati laki kena jaga beb..end up i masuk tidur close to 2 am.

Ahad :

Kul 7 am, masuk dapur nak sediakan breakfast. My maid tgh buat lempeng dan ubi telah siap direbus. Checked bilik guest room, lily dan Dee tgh sembang, hatim baru masuk tidur kul 5 am. It seemed Hatim, Zul, Amin n Ainon slept at 5 am. Hatim qadha first reunion dulu dia tak dtg so dis time dia betul2 all out.

Dee dh janji nak buat sambal tumis utk makan dgn ubi rebus... here u go i pass the kuali n sudip over to you, Dee !

Saturday Night Fever chronology part I

Alhamdulilah syukur majlis reunion kita telah berjalan dgn lancar dan kehadiran seramai 18 org termasuk 2 org kwn dari TIGS yg bukan TIPS. We were delighted Mrs Muthu was gracing us with her presence at our reunion.

Frens...i wld like to express my thanks for your continuous support to make the reunion a successful one.Those who came from far n near, driving and taking public transport , ur efforts are highly appreciated. Thanks a bunch to those who brought fruits, desserts n door gifts, ur contributions are most welcomed. Certainly ur presence is of great significance to me, frens !

From the bottom of our heart, my family n I wld like to express our gratitude for praises n compliments that has been showering us n pls accept my heartfelt apologies for any unintentionally inconvenience and inhospitality.

Just want to share with you citer2 disebalik tabir...supaya u all pun dapat rasakan kemeriahan nya...terasa mcm majlis terima menantu pulak.

Friday Morning :

Ainon arrived from Jitra, fetched her from from Shah Alam bus station. After Ainon refreshed herself and breakfast we went to the wet market, this is the kickoff to the reunion programme. Ainon bought mutton as she planned to make Sup Kambing for supper after the karaoke session. Thanks Ainon for footing 50% of the marketing bill. Bila smpi masa nak bayar jer, mesti bergaduh dua2 nak kuar duit. Dis is what ainon justified, since u all tak boleh dtg jitra nak beronggeng so dia belanja u all kat sini.

Then we started the pre-cooking session a.k.a merewang..kupas bawang, kentang, karot etc..etc.. ainon kupas bawang, smpi menangis (pedih mata). Kami mula menumis sup ari jumaat tu sbb sup nie klu dah satu ari lagi dia sedap. Klu yg menumisnya saya, ainon pulak yg masuk kan daging. Tapi alhamdulilah sup tu tak berbau kambing. Ainon did the final touched and credit shld go to ainon. This soup is specially for those who stayed overnite and served as supper.

Malamnya pulak saya ada function di ofis Fitri..sempena bulan merdeka diorg buat Gangstarz dan makan2. Mulanya saya tak nak g sbb byk benda yg belum settle tapi ptg tu my dear hubby ajak lagi n jemput ainon sekali. So okay lah akhir kami pergi dan plan nak balik awal. Last2 balik kul 9.30pm, tak sempat dah nak ke Giant. Tak per lah make do with whatever available..

Kul 1am baru Zzzzz.

Sabtu :

Kul 6.30am dah mula menyiapkan bahan yg nak dimasak utk makan tghari utk sahabat kita yg dtg dari KB, Melaka n Kluang dan juga utk kekwn yg sudi merasa air tangan saya. Kahkahkah...kena start awal, pukul 11am dan kena bersiap krn ada wedding invitation.

Lega...semuanya selesai mengikut jadual.

Kul 11.45am Azmi n de geng pun smpi, tak lama lps tu Roslina n hubby pulak smpi. Ina nie mmg buat kezutan tau. Mlm tu dia dh bg tau dia tak blh dtg sbb nak balik ke Melaka..tetiber muncul di dpn pintu. Sedang Ina hangat berkenalan semula dgn Azmi n Zul, Peng Huat pun smpi dgn our guest of honor, Mrs Muthu. Tapi saya tak sempat nak kosongkan porch, kami bajet Peng Huat smpi dlm kul 1pm. Sorry ye Peng Huat..

So bermula lah reunion kita utk ke2 kalinya..

Senarai kehadiran..Azmi, Zul, Amin, Ainon, Roslina, Muhaini, Midah, Peng Huat dan isteri (Elaine), Fauzia Salleh, Aya, Azariah, Hatim, Saadiah, Lily, Faziah, Ismail Raus, Roseta Jaafar & Nid Anis (ada nama lain yg saya tertinggal tak). Oops terlupa pulak tetamu terhormat Mrs Muthu.

Sepanjang ptg sabtu saya rasa kekwn semua byk mengimbau kenangan manis, lucu dan pahit yg dilalui bersama semasa bersekolah rendah 36 tahun yg lalu. Kehadiran Mrs Muthu yg petah berciter menghangatkan lagi suasana reunion kami. Ptg tu kami tak bergerak dari meja makan, semua terpaku mendengar celoteh mrs muthu.

To the rest, Muhaini,Midah, Azi, Roy Hassan, Faziah, Roslaili, Peng Huat Elaine it was great meeting again. Muhaini thanks for the company. Peng Huat, did u manage to find the book?

Glad I stayed the night, but Azmi no more of Hail Amir/Uji Rashid,bosan weii nak nyanyi..Amin refuse to karok langsung without Roy Hassan by his side.

Arrived in KB at 6 pm.. A long journey back but doesn’t feel tired at all.. Maybe I’m used to it with me riding on my bike traveled to a lot of far places besides KL.

The moment I arrived in KL I was blessed to meet Rahman… from then on my days were filled with joy and laughter. Excluding lawak2 terlampau yg hanya difahami oleh golongan2 berusia seusia dgn zaman Jurassic.. ( Ada yg senyum kambing ni ).. Perghh.. Azmah.. mlm td sup kambing cecah roti sikit punya kauuu.. Pak kal je bini jauh.. Mujor lah I dh tukar seluar.. Pakai kain kaloo.. Naya… Pagi ni kena lagi.. Yg balik jauh tu mcm Amin.. jgn spread virus B1R1.. Zul dh sebarkan B1N1 kt sini tp I ngn Amin tak kena..sipi2 pn tak…..

Ok.. beginning from this line pls make yourself look serious.. No laugh ok… juz wanna test your wrinkles and double chin.. Ni bukan sessi fotografi.. Hands on your back..and before you say Cheese pls stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth as you smile.. This will reduces the double chin effect.. ( Ainon excluded sbb mustahil kan..he..he ). Say `Cheese’.. Oops.. how come when I look back at the shot some say `belacan..’ except Mrs Muthu say `muruku..’… he..he..

To Azmah's kids, always on their toes to render help, tambah air and lauk, angkat pinggan, senyum je, Azmah U sgt pandai n berjaya didik anak2 U dgn baik, alhamdulillah.

Not forgetting the maid yg sgt rajin. Plis say my thanks to her!

Azmah pun, smpai merah2 pipi dia yg putih mungil tu sbb all the blood rushing to her head with the increased activity and excitement. U have a gud rest dear!

To all frens for making it so happening! Yg dtg jauh esecially, Azmi, Amin,Ainon, Saadiah, Lily, Ismail n Zul ( walaupun dgn Zul sempat bersalam je ), Aya personally sgt2 menghargai kedatangan U all!

Peng Huat glad we met Elaine. She easily fits in with us, the crazy bunch! She is a good woman, a good husband deserves a good woman.

To all you people who have make Saturday event such a wonderful one -

I ucapkan ribuan terima kasih. So far each one of us has

walk away with more joys in the heart than we first arrived with. And for that, Azmah - you have done the magic

yet again through the blessings of your family and home.

To this generosity, I must thank Azmah yet again for her ever open hospitality to all -

she has provided such warm heartfelt hospitality to all irregardless near or far. And of course

each one of you has added such wonderful touches of fragrance from your lives for us to

appreciate and thankful for.

As Mrs Muthu so correctly remarked - she is simply so happy that each of us has grown up and

are successful in our own ways. She kept on expressing her happiness for us in enjoying

being amongst us...with all the love and warmth that she felt. Likewise, Elaine has also enjoyed herself

tremendously and for that I know all of you have so warmly extended your friendship and make her

very much at home. Thank you so much.

And not least, we must also congratulate ourselves for making effort to value the simple ties of

friendship across the years and renewed in 2009. This entire reunion since March is certainly among

the highlights of 2009 for me.

And life being enriched by our moments of significance, last Saturday is certainly one of those. And all

of you, thank you for being part of that moment.

nite time lagi happening, killing,befitting (oops,joking je!)........ etc,etc,etc. ..u c i c zul, amin,ainon,hatim mronggeng sampe kul 5 pg ya! wahhh.....!! so ble snoozing n snoring ke sblm subuh? dont b maddening at me ya, joking2 je.

actually i nak ucapkan my most heartfelt sincere "THANK U ALL LUVS " for making those cherishing moments in my life..
